Doris Mae Cole

In loving memory of Doris Mae (Recker) Cole, 83, who passed through the gates of heaven on January 14, 2017 and was reunited with her beloved husband, Robert B. Cole (Buzz). Doris lived in the Akron area her whole life where she met the love of her life, Robert. After Doris and Robert were married, they settled in Green where they raised their family. Since 1974, Doris had been an active member of St. Francis de Sales Parish as a Eucharistic Minister, a founding member of the "Over 60's Club", a faithful volunteer who cleaned the church weekly, and attended Mass almost daily. Doris was an amazing "Holy Woman" and was considered to be "The Best of the Best".
She was co-owner and operator of Cole's Garage and Cole's EZ-Ride Thru with her late husband. She attended St. Mary's High School and loved to travel with Robert, especially to Fort Meyers, Florida where they had a second home.
Mrs. Cole was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, in 2008. She is survived by her children, Linda (Keith) Rawling, Mark (Michele) Cole, James B. Cole, and Joseph (Jacqueline) Cole; sister, Rosemary Frey; grandchildren, Keith (Katie) Rawling, Brian Rawling, Diana (Michael) Stich, Robert (Deanna Brown) Cole, Joseph Cole Jr., and Kyle (Ellen) Martinez; and her great grandchildren, "Her Babies", Will Thrush, Kaleigh and Molly Rawling, Andrew and Abigail Stich, Rory and Max Bauers and Oliver Martinez.
Funeral Service prayers will begin Thursday, 9:15 a.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home of Green, 4178 Massillon Road Uniontown, Ohio 44685 followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 4019 Manchester Road Akron, Ohio 44319. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in her memory. (City of Green Chapel)
