Donna J. Czarnecki, 77, closed her eyes and slipped away peacefully surrounded by loving family on February 5, 2026 at the Justin T. Rogers Hospice Care Center.
She is survived by John, her loving husband of 53 years, her daughter Jennifer (Ryan Harrell), her beloved grandchildren Elliott and Merritt, sister Linda Henson, her nieces and nephews, and her great nieces and great nephews. She also leaves behind her beloved cat Ollie, who visited the hospice center and nobly served as a comfort to her in her final hours. She was preceded in death by her daughter Amanda Czarnecki, sister Margaret "Bunny" Wilson, brother Robert Albright and her mother Mildred Albright. The thought of being reunited with Amanda in Heaven gave her peace in her final days.
Donna was born on January 15, 1949 in Cleveland, Ohio. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1967, subsequently attended nursing school, and became an LPN. If one were to ask anyone who knew Donna, they would say she was kind, sweet-natured, gentle and loving. These qualities served her well in her profession, as she treated everyone with the utmost care, respect and kindness. During her brief time at the hospice center, the nurses there honored one of their own, and performed a "pinning ceremony" for her.
Donna loved to have a good time and was known to enjoy a good night of karaoke. One of her favorite songs to sing was "Johnny Angel" for her husband. She also enjoyed singing "The Tide is High" by Blondie, "Sweet Dreams" by the Eurythmics and "Take a Bow" by Madonna.
Donna was a great mother who would move heaven and earth for her children. She stayed up all night and nursed them when they were sick. She cried with them, laughed with them, and took joy in the small moments. She loved her grandchildren, whose arrival ignited a renewed sparkle in her eyes. She had a sweet tooth and did not hold back on providing endless amounts of sugar when her grandchildren visited.
Donna delighted in giving gifts and beautifully wrapped them. Everyone could tell at Christmas by the gifts under the tree that those with the beautiful ribbon bows were from Donna. She had a love and knack for making crafts, which resulted in custom-made birthday greetings for her loved ones. They are keepsakes that will be treasured forever. During her last few years, she shared her love of crafting with her grandchildren.
For those who loved Donna, a celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at Anthony Funeral Home of Green, 4178 Massillon Road, Uniontown, Ohio 44685, with a receiving line beginning at 1:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM. Donations in Donna's honor may be made to the Justin T. Rogers Hospice Care Center, in honor of the outstanding care and tranquility they provided to her in her final days.
