Donald Shawn Wightman

Shawn Wightman, 62, passed away unexpectedly Monday, July 18, 2022, at Akron General Medical Center.
Shawn was born September 24, 1959 to Howard and Dolores (Nedimyer) Wightman in Akron and was an Akron resident his entire life. He was a 1973 graduate of Garfield High School. He was employed by KB Bioenergy at the city of Akron Composting Facility. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and a Third Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council 3410.
In addition to his parents, Shawn was preceded in death by his brother Randy last February. He is survived by his siblings Rodney (Terry), Kevin (Jean) and Scott (Julie) Wightman and Michele (Brent) Holderbaum; nieces and nephews Tara and Adam Holderbaum and Amanda, Brooke and Carly Wightman and many friends.
The family will receive friends Sunday, July 24, 2022, from 2 to 5 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home, 1990 S. Main St., Akron. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, July 25, 2022, at 11:00 am at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1580 Brown St., Akron OH 44301. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
