Donald Lee Ruegg

Donald L. Ruegg, 72, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on February 2, 2025.
Don was born on August 13, 1952 in Ogden, UT to the late George & Beatrice Ruegg and was a 1970 graduate of Garfield High School. Don retired from Steere Enterprises in 2018. Don was an avid hiker and marathon runner. He was a member of the Akron, Canton, and Cleveland Hiking Clubs. He ran one full and two half marathons, along with numerous 5k's & 10k's. Don enjoyed golfing and enjoyed time spent with friends during his Wednesday golf league. He could always be found cheering on one of his grandchildren at their many sporting events.
In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his brothers Richard and Dale and sister Patricia Ann; brother-in-law Dave Zak; nephew Eric Ruegg. He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years Linda; his children Carolyn Schall, Daniel (Beth), & Jill (Dan) Gravo; grandchildren Haleigh, Brooke, Alice, Lily, Luke, Daisy, Paul, McKenna, & Jackson; sister Diane Zak and brothers Michael (Coletta), Dennis, Dave (Cheryl), Marty (Jeanne), & Mark (Buffy) Ruegg., as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, Feb. 15, from 1-4 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home Reception Center 1990 S. Main St. in Akron (entrance on west side of building).
