Donald Gene Freed

Donald Freed, 72, of Coventry Township, passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2026.

Born on September 21, 1953 in Akron, Ohio, Donald was the son of the late Homer and Violet Freed. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Paul, Shirley, Myrtle, Vita, Vonnie and Margie.

Donald was a wonderful, loving husband and Papa who loved his family unconditionally. He had a deep passion for rock'n'roll, a love that will live on vicariously through those he leaves behind. He will be dearly missed by all the lives he touched.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Claudia; her children, Jess, Amanda (Ryan), and John (Erin); and his cherished grandchildren Brian, Tristan, Skylar, Madalynn, Gavin, Raelyn, and Josie. He also leaves behind his sisters Nancy, Omajean, and Linda.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026 from 1-3PM at the Anthony Funeral Homes - Akron Chapel, 1990 S Main St in Akron, where a memorial service will be held at 3:00PM.
