Donald G. Albright, 91, passed away Friday, January 1, 2016.
He was born in Berlin, Pennsylvania and retired from B & W in 1986 after 32 years of service. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II with the 28th Infantry Division under General George Patton at the Battle of the Bulge. He also served in the United States Marine Corps. during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Albright was a member of the Marine Corps. League Chesty Puller Branch. He was a licensed pilot, active in youth sports in the 1960's and 1970's and the Akron AA League, a University of Akron Sports Booster and a sports official for football, basketball and soccer for 15 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty in 2009; and brother, Richard. He is survived by his children, Denny (Margaret), James (Brian), Don (Teresa), Jeannie (Ron) and Mark (Joy); brother, Harold (Jean); sister-in-law, Shirley; grandchildren, Scott, Amber, Lisa, Jason, Amanda and Samantha; and great-grandchildren, Keagan, Brayden and Cameron.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, 11 a.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. Akron, Ohio 44301 where the family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
