Delores "Dolly" L. Gates
CUYAHOGA FALLS -- Delores Louise Gates, 93, passed away peacefully on Jan. 11, 2017 at Bath Creek Estates, where she resided due to dementia and early stages of Alzheimer's.
She will be deeply missed by family who meant everything to her. She was the most thoughtful and caring person you would ever know and gave of herself completely as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. After retiring from Portage Newspaper Supply in 1988, she spent many years caring for family members in need. She also loved gardening, dancing, casino bus trips, dinner theater shows, family gatherings, & spending time with her many grandchildren.
Delores was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Sr. & Marian Boehme; husband, William Ray Jr.; brothers, Charles Jr. and Robert Boehme; sister, Edna Sassano; daughter-in-law, Luanne Gates. She is survived by sons, Richard (Linda) Gates and Robert Gates; grandchildren, Lisa (Eric) Mitchell, Brian Gates (Christine Miller), Jeffrey (Anna) Gates, Justin (Carrie) Gates, Marisa (Tom) Wynne and Morgan Gates; great-grandchildren, Chris Powell (Angela Smith), Joshua Gates, Hayley Scott, Avery (Emelia) Gates, and Harrison (Oscar) Wynne; great-great-grandson, Christopher Powell; sisters, Marilyn Krochta, Barbara Kippes; and brother, Albert Boehme.
A funeral service will take place on Friday, 1 p.m., at the Anthony Funeral Homes McGOWAN-REID & SANTOS CHAPEL, 247 Stow Ave. (at Third St., one block north of Portage Trail) in Cuyahoga Falls, where the family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
