DEBORAH ANN GOOD (Duffy)
Our dear, loving Debbie left us suddenly on Tuesday, October 29th. Deb was born November 11, 1952 in Fairview, Ohio, and attended school in Westlake. There she met and began dating her future husband, Larry, and after both graduated from Bowling Green University, the knot was tied in 1977. After 3 years in Lakewood, home became Cuyahoga Falls for 7 years; then on to their current home in Green in 1987. Debbie and Larry have enjoyed 47 years married, and an untold number of wonderful experiences together. Those near to her know that Deb had lately suffered multiple medical challenges, but bravely fought them while maintaining her grace, her dignity, and her loving personality. Her family - husband Larry, daughter Wendy, son Michael - couldn't be more proud to have shared her love, and to have endured with her through all these many years. Debbie's career through life was that of a School Counselor, almost entirely in the Copley-Fairlawn School System. Every day on duty she proved herself to be the caring, compassionate, and available guiding spirit every child needed. Even dealing with the inherent challenges of the job, she only ever brought home the positive and sometimes humorous events of the day. And she exemplified raising her own children with these virtues also.
After retirement in 2010, Debbie enjoyed her favorite hobby - traveling. She enjoyed many trips to various parts of the world, with a variety of her best friends. And through her Irish gift of story telling, the trips would re-live themselves to family and friends. Once in a great while we are blessed in knowing someone who values friendship more than anything else. Debbie always cultivated friendships for the long term, and always said that "old friends are the BEST!" She always remembered friends' birthdays and celebrated their special occasions with more enthusiasm than her own. She will always be remembered as a giving, nurturing, and caring soul. She will be painfully missed.
