Deborah Ann Chipps, 62, fell asleep in the Lord Sunday, October 16, 2022, surrounded by her family after a brief, but brutal battle with cancer.
Debbie was born in Akron on August 20, 1960 and was a lifelong area resident. A 1978 graduate of East High School, she worked as a restaurant manager for her whole career, starting at Perkins, then Gus's Chalet for 20 years, and finally at Bob Evans for the remainder of her life. Debbie loved taking vacations with her family to the beach, swimming and enjoying the sunshine. She was an amazing woman, a wonderful and dedicated wife, mother, baba and friend. She touched everyone that she met, gracing and enriching their lives with her light and stunning smile.
She was preceded in death by her mother Anastasia Skeriotis. She is survived by her husband of 43 years Perry; daughters Melissa (Ben) Lee, Heather (Brian) Brandenburg, & Annie Chipps; father Mike (Stella) Skeriotis; brother John (Karen) Skeriotis; grandchildren Becca & Kara Lee, and Troy & expected grandson Brandenburg; nephews Yianni & Michael Skeriotis; extended family Anna & Larry Hardesty, and Michael and Ioanna Sitara; and many other loved ones.
The family will receive friends on Saturday 22 from 12Noon to 2:30PM at the Anthony Funeral Homes, 1990 S Main St in Akron, where a Trisagion will be held at 2:30PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church at 129 S Union Street, Akron OH 44304.
