David Lee Ross

Born March 11, 1940 in Akron to Tony and Julia Ross, Dave passed away June 4, 2017. He grew up on North Hill and was a 1958 graduate of North High School. He entered the US Marine Corps after high school and served until 1961. He was a member of St. Martha Catholic Church in Akron. Dave married Sandra Marie Lee on June 1, 1963. David enjoyed horse racing and craps, especially with lifelong friends Carl, Butch, and Al. Preceded in death by his parents, as well as his beloved wife Sandra; brother, Cpt. Thomas A. Ross, USMC. He is survived by his children David L. (Donna) Ross, Jr., & Michele Ross; grandchildren Ashley & Jessica Ross and Nicole & Joshua Zimcosky; brother Don (Cindy) Ross & sister-in-law Cathie (Gary) Hawk, as well as many nieces & nephews. The family will receive friends on Thursday, 5-8 pm, at the Anthony Funeral Home McGowan-Reid & Santos Chapel, 247 Stow Ave. (at Third St., one block north of Portage Trail in) Cuyahoga Falls. A funeral service will take place on Friday, 11 am, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Dave's name to your favorite charity.
