David Anthony Norman

David Anthony Norman passed away on October 6, 2026, after a short illness. David was born on October 7, 1946, in the village of Over, near Cambridge, England, UK.

He graduated from the University of Cambridge with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, and a concentration in Japanese language. Following his university years, David worked for Barwell Global Ltd. He was based in Cambridge, England, Basel Switzerland and Sydney, Australia doing technical sales for Barwell. His knowledge of Japanese helped him in the second stage of his career, as a sales engineer at Kobelco Stewart Bolling, Inc. David lived in Japan for 2 years and he always maintained a love for Japanese culture and food. With a promotion to Vice President of Sales, David was transferred to the Kobelco facility in Hudson, Ohio. After years of moving around the world, David put down new roots in Ohio. He retired from Kobelco in 2014. David felt he had more to offer, so he accepted the position of Vice President of Summit Academy Schools. David concentrated on finding and purchasing buildings for many of the 24 charter schools in the state of Ohio. David later served on the Board of Directors of Summit Academy, fully retiring in 2022.

David and his wife Jennifer traveled to many places in the USA and Europe, enjoying hiking, exploring cities and visiting museums. Never fond of very cold weather, David and Jennifer enjoyed becoming snowbirds and spending winters in Bonita Springs, FL.

David was always very proud of his village and of England. He maintained lifelong friendships with his mates from Over. David never knew a stranger and made many strong friendships in Ohio, Florida and around the world.

Calling hours will be on Thursday, October 15, 2026 from 4-6PM at the Anthony Funeral Home of Green, 4178 Massillon Road (corner of Massillon and Steese Roads, entrance off Steese), where a funeral service will be held at 6PM.
