David Myers joined his father, Jimmy Myers ringside in heaven the
evening of Saturday, February 20th. Dave went to Green High where he and
his best friend Pat Kapper ruled the school. Dave, also known as "Boom
Boom" Myers grew up in Akron, Ohio. As a young man out of high school he
took his first job working for Otis. He was third generation in his
family to be involved in the trade along with his brother Mike Myers.
Dave has completed more inspections than any other elevators inspector
in the state of Ohio. Elevators by no means consumed my Dad's life. He
won multiple local Golden Glove championships and was a runner up in the
National Golden Gloves in 1984. Since that time he has 72 fights under
his belt and 8 professional fights. He enjoyed talking about his
continued involvement with the Ohio Athletic Commission as an Event
Inspector and manager. He went on to be a part of Honor Fighting
Championship Promotions. Anything Dave did was with passion, love and
hard work. All of this sounds exciting but the job that he was most
proud of was being a father to his daughter Mallory and grandfather to
her son Daniel. He loved driving his Corvette, working out and working
in his yard. He will be missed by his Daughter Mallory Myers, her Fiancé
Mario Kasburg, Grandson Daniel Myers, his Mother Sandy Myers; Brothers
Chris Myers and Mike (Michelle) Myers; Uncles John (Sylvia) Myers,
Michael (Sherrie) Schwartz; favorite cousin Barb Hall-Brados, Niece Christine Lucas and Nephew Chaz Myers and of course his two ever present companions, Missy and Mack.
The family will receive friends Saturday, February 27, 2021 from 12
to 2pm at the Anthony Funeral Home, 1990 S. Main St., Akron where a
Celebration of Dave's Life will be held at 2:00 pm. Masks and social
distancing are required.
