David A. Herget

David Herget, 72, passed away on October 18, 2013.
Born in Akron on June 26, 1941 to the late William & Edith Herget, David was a graduate of Garfield High School and a lifetime area resident. He proudly served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War, where he earned a Bronze Star and other commendations. David was employed as an inspector for the East Ohio Gas Company. He was a member of the American Legion Post 566.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his wife Jillian, brother William, and brother-in-law David Williams. He is survived by his children Elizabeth (James) Martin of Denver, Colorado & Jason (Michele) Herget of North Canton; grandchildren Nathaniel & Aidan Martin and Cade Herget; sisters Barbara Williams of Virginia & Mary Lou (Bob) Chatman of Akron.
A graveside committal of ashes, with full military honors, will take place at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
