David Charles Collins

David C. "Clutch" Collins, 69, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, January 5, 2023.

Born in Akron on June 13, 1953 to the late Bob and Anne Collins, Dave was a lifelong area resident. He graduated from Kenmore High School in 1971 and went on to earn a Bachelors and Masters in Education from the University of Akron. Dave retired from Akron Public Schools in 2009 after 33 years teaching at Lincoln Elementary. He always had a joke and was always ready to help anyone in need. In his retirement, Dave enjoyed spending time outdoors, live music and riding the open road.

Dave is survived by his sons Mark (Alissa), Sean, and Ryan and their mother Lori; grandchildren Jane, Elinor, Nolan, Wylie, and Van; siblings Diane Allred, Patty Goffee, and Barbie Groh; and many nieces & nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday, January 13 from 6:00-8:00PM at the Anthony Funeral Homes, Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S Main St in Akron. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Haven of Rest at https://www.havenofrest.org/ .
