Daniel T. Spalding, 82, passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 surrounded by his family. Daniel was born on July 15, 1933 to John and Mary Spalding in Akron, Ohio. He was a graduate of St. Mary's High School and apprenticed at The B.F. Goodrich Company where he was employed for 35 years. Preceded in death by his parents and stepmother, Helen, and sisters, Anna Louise Wilke and Joan Borowski, he is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Helen (Pangburn), and daughters, Mary Ann (John) Price, and Brenda (Bill) Walko; sons, Daniel, Gregory (Beatrice), Alan (Julie), Michael (Christe), and Philip (Angela). He is also survived by his sisters, Mildred Tarricone, and Frances (Sterling) Shand and Susan Finan; and brother-in-law, Joseph Pangburn (Fran). Also surviving Daniel are 15 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Our family would like to express our deepest gratitude to Briarwood in Stow and Crossroads Hospice for their compassionate care and support during Dan's illness. We also want to thank Martha Hallis for her help and care at Briarwood. Calling hours will be on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Dunn-Quigley Funeral Home, Stow (3333 Kent Rd. at Rt. 91). Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
