Cynthia L. Skye

Cynthia L. (Cindy) Skye, 53, passed away Wednesday, August 27, 2014 after a courageous battle with Scleroderma and many other auto immune diseases.
She was born in Barberton and had been an administrative assistant for a local rubber shop. Cynthia was an advocate for the Humane Society and a contributor to the Haven of Rest. Special thank you to her visiting nurse, Deborah and to the staff of Manor Care of Barberton and Akron City Hospital for all of their care, support and guidance.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ernest Lee Powell; and pet cat and companion, Matilda. She is survived by her mother, Geraline (Tharpe) Powell; sisters, Yulonda (Buddy) Williams and Marlene (Rick Postich) Powell; niece, LeeAnne Powell; nephew, Dustin Antal of Las Vegas; boyfriend, Don Smith; and her new furry friend, Sonny.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, August 30, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. Akron, Ohio 44301. Pastor John Theilenhaus officiating. Entombment at Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday, August 29, 2014 from 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, August 30, 2014 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
