Cynthia Ann Marie (Ott) Matheny

Cynthia Ann Marie (Ott) Matheny, 59, passed away Saturday, October 22, 2022 due to complications of a heart condition she had lived with for many years. She was hiking with her best friend on a beautiful day when she fell asleep in the arms of the Lord. She is now made whole again.
She was preceded in death by her mother Donna June (Drexler) Ott. She is survived by her five children Nichole (Jarrod) Coyle, Kayla, Christina, Zachary (Cassidy) Matheny and Alyssa (Sam) Goodman; their father Leland Matheny; grandchildren Lydia & Nora Coyle; father George Ott; siblings Therese (David) Holderbaum, Tim (Kristen) Ott, Debbie (Jere) Nichols, Mary (Shawn) Grandon, Joe (Michelle) Ott and Mike (Megan) Ott; many, many nieces and nephews and other loved ones.
Born in Akron, Cindy was a lifelong area resident, graduating from Manchester High School in 1981. She was a longtime member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. She never met a stranger and brought joy to so many people.
She enjoyed baking, bowling, playing cards, and spending time with her family. She loved and was so proud of her children, grandchildren, and looked forward to watching her family grow.
The family will receive friends on Friday, October 28 from 4-8PM at the Anthony Funeral Homes, Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S Main St in Akron. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, October 29 at 11AM at St. Francis de Sales Parish, 4019 Manchester Road in Akron. Private burial at Holy Cross Cemetery.
