Cordia "Jean" Long, 82, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at her home, with her family.
She was born in Lillydale, Tennessee, a town now located under Dale Hallow Lake. She was the core of her family; Jean enjoyed cooking and making family dinners, dancing, traveling and visiting family. She loved going to her children's, grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's activities. She was a member of the Mogadore Moose and was a Brownie Leader as well as a member of Cottage Grove E.C. Church. She also would make clothes for her children and later costumes for her grandchildren. A Special Thank You to Nancy, Betsy, Randy and Summa at Home for their care.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cord Huey and Ella Margaret (Harvey) Wilborn; granddaughter, Melissa Jean Long; grandson, Daniel "Danny" W. Long; and siblings, Lois, Louis, Lloyd, Pauline, Mary, Ruth and David. Cordia Jean is survived by her beloved husband, John M. Long; daughters, Deanna (Gregg) Manes, Martha (John) Long and Tina Long; siblings, Joyce, Dimple, Joe, Ruby, Wayne, Sue and Patsy; grandchildren, Laura(Dan) Rowe, Sara (Alex) Robinson, Eric (Erin) Long and Joseph(Sara) Long and five great grandchildren, Abigail, Daniel, Madison, Eliana, and Porter; and her loyal pups Lulu and Marco.
The family will receive friends Thursday, November 21, 2024 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. Akron, Ohio 44301. Funeral service will be held Friday, November 22, 2024 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Andrew Carr officiating. Interment at Northlawn Memorial Gardens.
