Cletus Dean Thompson, 79, of Stow passed away on March 27, 2023.  Born in Dennison, Ohio to the late Edward and Cora Thompson, Dean was the youngest of five siblings, Beatrice, Edward, Donale, and Richard all of whom preceded him in death.  He was a retired machinist who had 32 years of service at Goodyear.  It was during those years and the lunch hour card games with his fellow workers that he acquired a talent as a proficient euchre player.

Dean had served honorably in the U.S. Navy from 1962 - 1966.  Since his retirement from Goodyear in 2002 he enjoyed himself at various sports including golf, fishing, hunting, bowling and at one time racquetball.  He also loved to travel especially to visit out of town family.  He and his wife, Sandra, were members of Redemption Chapel in Stow.

His survivors include wife,  Sandra; daughter, Renee (Jimmie) Rinella; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Rodney and Judith Day;  numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Friends may call on Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Dunn-Quigley Stow Chapel (3333 Kent Rd. At Rt. 91),  where Pastor Austin McCann will conduct memorial services at 6:00.
