Christopher Mark Walczak

Christopher M. Walczak passed away peacefully December 12 at the age of 64. He was a devoted and loving son, brother, uncle, and friend. His quick wit, laughter, and hugs will be missed by many.

Chris was born in Akron, Ohio on December 3, 1960. He graduated from Norton High in 1979 and completed an Associates Degree in Commercial Arts from the University of Akron in 1984. Chris was proud of his work at McKinnon Printing Co. Inc. before studying nursing and ultimately becoming a truck driver for Ruan. Chris had various passions including music, sports, history, travel, hiking. He was a lifelong motorcycle and car enthusiast, his most recent pride and joy being his 1994 Ford Mustang. As a social butterfly, Chris had many lifelong friends and was not shy when chatting with strangers, either, seeing everyone as a potential friend! Bringing people together with good food and drink was a great joy of his, yet he was also able to appreciate the quiet small moments, such as sitting in companionship with his cat Clara and watching the wildlife in his neighborhood.

Chris is survived by his brother, John L. Walczak; stepbrothers, Don (Cathy) Goliath, Eugene (Cheryl) Goliath, Greg (Theresa) Goliath; nieces, Kelly Walczak, Trisha (Michael) Clark and nephew, Brad Walczak; grandnieces, Ashley Walczak and Jessica Clark; grandnephews Logan Bender and Lucas Bender. He was preceded in death by his father, John J. Walczak, mother, Helen C. Goliath (Glattes); stepfather, Eugene Goliath, and brothers Michael and Patrick Walczak.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 21 at 1:00PM at the Anthony Funeral Homes, Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S Main St in Akron, were the family will receive friends from 11AM to 1PM. Interment at Holy Cross cemetery will follow. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice.
