Cherie L. Vaughan, 77, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandma, passed away on February 9, 2026. She was born on December 12, 1948, to Wadesworth and Norma McCauley. She graduated from Springfield High School in 1966, where she made several lifelong friends.
Family was at the heart of everything she did, and she dedicated her life to nurturing and supporting those around her. A huge part of that was through food, turning everyday moments into memories, especially recognizing birthdays with your favorite meal.
She shared a special love of the beach with her husband, Jim. Together, they created countless sand-filled memories that the children cherish. Though she will be greatly missed, her legacy lives on through shared recipes, memories made in her kitchen, and family traditions, especially her "red dinner".
Her warmth, kind gestures, and love will be missed by her children, Eric Vaughan (Diane), Barry Wilkins, Heather Langenek (Brian), Wendy Dobbins (Art), and Sarah Vaughan. Her grandchildren, Brittany (Jim), Artie (Kylie), Adam (Jessie), Chloe, Olivia, Anna (Jeremy), Jaime, Beau (deceased), Tyler, Jacob, Brady, and Leah. Great Grandma to Delaney, Addie, Reed, Grant, Artie V, Kaylee, and Kennedy. She also leaves behind her sisters-in-law, Kathy Vaughan, Julie Vaughan, Beth Sanfillipo, Mary Mahaley (Marty), Chrissie Robbins (Dick), and "Grandma Cherie" to Pat, Sean, and Kelly, and several other nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held at the Anthony Funeral Home on Friday, February 13th, from 4 to 6:30 p.m.
