Charles J. Woody, Sr.(Jerry), 75, passed away on March 3, 2021 in Canton.
Jerry was born on January 12, 1946 in Middlesboro, KY to the late Frank & Hazel Woody. He served his country in the US Army and was stationed in Panama 1966-1968. He retired from Babcock & Wilcox, where he worked as a production manager. He later worked with Cutler Real Estate. He was a member of John Knox Presbyterian Church. He was an avid golfer and his son's biggest supporter and caddy when it came to his son's golf career.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Pat; son Chuck (Tara) and granddaughter Molly, who was the love of his life and partner in crime; brothers Mickey & Bo and sisters Twinkle, Margaret, & Kathy; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Frankie and sisters, Norma, Wootsie, Marion, and Betty Jo.
A graveside service will take place on Monday, March 8, at 11:00 am at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, with full military honors. Rev. Frances Fischer officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials in Charles' name to Alzheimer's Association or the Akron/Canton Foodbank.(Anthony Funeral Home of Green)
