Charles Richard Piatt

Charles Richard Piatt, from Uniontown, Ohio known affectionately as Rich, passed away on July 20, 2024, at the age of 82 and went to be home with the Lord.
A loving husband, brother and father in-law, Rich was born on May 20, 1942, in Barnesville, Ohio. A son of the late Donald Piatt and Mildred Piatt Fraley of Bethesda, Ohio. Rich was a veteran of the Army from 1961 to 1963 and was stationed in Germany during his service. He moved to the Akron, Ohio area after the service and married Linda Jean Wisman Carpenter of Beallsville, Ohio. Rich worked as a skilled machinist and programmer at several machine shops in the Akron area to include Lockheed Martin. Rich will always be remembered for being soft spoken with a kind demeanor with a love of animals, nature walks, fishing, and a passion for tinkering on cars as well as metal and wood working and will be missed dearly by his family.
In addition to his parents, Rich was preceded in death by his wife Linda Piatt, Sister Janice Moore of Beallsville, OH, a brother Billy Piatt of Canton, OH, a sister Donna Marie Gray of Florida. Surviving are his two sons Chris Carpenter (Karen) of Toledo, Ohio and Rick Carpenter (Renee) of Barnesville, Ohio. A brother Robert Fraley (Nora) of Bethesda, OH, Sister LaDonna Moore (Ronnie) and brother in-law Freddie Moore of Beallsville, Ohio. In addition, there are 4 Grandchildren, Shawnda Carpenter, Cory Carpenter, Sydney Carpenter and Cody Carpenter.
Funeral services will take place on Friday, July 26, 12 pm, with the family receiving friends beginning at 11:00 am at the Anthony Funeral Home Akron Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
