Charles Bruce Moore born August 7, 1944 in Livingston Tennessee, passed away October 10th after a courageous battle with PSP (Progressive Supra-nuclear Palsy) at his home in the city of Green. Known to his family and close friends as Bruce, "Bootie", or Coach Moore, he dedicated his life to family and his community. He was loving husband, a supportive father, a proud grandfather, and a loyal brother and friend.
As an educator and coach at Akron Ellet High School for the majority of his career, he devoted his time and a piece of his heart to his players, students and community. He pursued excellence as a dual athlete at Central High School and later as a Florida Gator, playing both Division I baseball and basketball.
His contributions as a player and coach were recognized when he was inducted into the Greater Akron Baseball Hall of Fame in 1995. Countless awards for his coaching and mentorship serve as a testament to his impact on Akron youth and local sports.
He was preceded in death by his parents Anna L. and John V. Moore, and his brother Bobby Jack Moore. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Marta of 34 years, his brother John (Janice) Moore, his daughters Tammy (Charlie) Justice, Kim Moore-Mace, Tara Moore-Perry, and Kendra Shea. Blessed as a grand-father to Ashley (Phil) Shearer, Alexis (Jake) Keener, Brock (Crystal) Justice, Lindsey (Dave) Puch, Abby Mace, Justin Perry, Faith Perry, and Zach Mace, and seven great-grandchildren. Also survived by many close extended family and friends. Visitation will be on Saturday, the 15th of October from 10am-1pm, with a funeral immediately following at 1 pm at The Green Chapel, 1800 Raber Rd. Uniontown, 44685.
