Charles Joseph Markulis, 84, died October 29, 2022 after a short illness.
Mr. Markulis was the owner-operator of Markulis Signs and Paint Works for more than 40 years, retiring at age 76. He was also a school bus driver for Woodridge Schools for more than three decades.
Preceded in death by his son, Charles Edward Markulis; brother, David Markulis (Judy); sister-in-law, Stephanie Peel (Ken); and brother-in-law, Gary Galati (Wilma); He leaves his wife of 61 years, Dorothy; daughter, Stefani Wolford (James Anthony); seven grandchildren, Nichole and Justin Deltour, Austen and Alexa Markulis and Samantha, Jolene and Paul Wolford; three sisters, Deborah Bowman (Dave), Dianne Bennett (Steve) and Denise Valentine (Mike); daughter-in-law, Amy Markulis; ex son-in-law, Joseph Deltour (Jeanette); and many wonderful nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
A talented artist, he continued making wood toys and clocks and oil paintings until two months ago when he became ill. He will be remembered by all as a wonderful, generous man who loved his family very much.
At his request there are no calling hours or services. A family celebration of life will be at a later date.
