In Loving Memory of Charles "Roger" Judy
Charles Roger Judy, 96, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2026.
Roger was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend who led a life marked by integrity, generosity, and a willingness to lend a helping hand.
Born in Akron, Ohio, Roger graduated from Garfield High School and earned a degree in Business Administration from the University of Akron. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. "Semper Fi," the Marine Corps motto meaning "Always Faithful," was a phrase that stayed with him throughout his life.
He married the love of his life, Jeannette (Ujcic) Judy, in 1955. Together, they shared 67 years of marriage, raised six children, and built a life centered on faith, family, and friendship.
Roger began his professional career at the Akron Beacon Journal before co-founding Akron Hardware Consultants in 1960 with his friend Joe Orihel.
His welcoming smile could instantly warm a room. A great listener, Roger always sought to learn more and maintain close relationships with family and friends. He genuinely wanted to see others grow and expand their knowledge. Whether through a conversation, an email, a text message, or an article he thought someone would enjoy, Roger was always reaching out and staying connected.
Roger was a devoted Catholic and faithful servant of the Lord. He was a member of Queen of Heaven Parish, where he participated in the Rosary Makers ministry for many years.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas B. Judy and Clarus M. Judy (Lyons); his beloved wife, Jeannette (Ujcic) Judy; his sister, Lois Boeckman; his brothers, Thomas and Robert Judy; and his daughter-in-law Kristy Judy.
He is survived by his sisters, Joan Englehart and MaryEllen Feeman; his sons, Michael (Charlotte), David, John (Wendy), Chuck (Dawn), and Roger; and his daughter, Jennifer Judy. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Christopher (Lisa), Thomas, Dakota, Wilson, Grace (David), Makenna, Nathan, Lucas, Julia, Elizabeth, and Hayden, as well as his great-grandchildren, Sarah, Michael, Joshua, Lillian, and Rachel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 26, at Queen of Heaven Parish, 1800 Steese Road, Green, Ohio. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m., before the Mass at 11:00 a.m. A private burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron.
