Charles Henry Geers

Charles Geers, 86, passed away July 1, 2014, at the Village of St. Edward in Fairlawn.
Born in Akron on May 17, 1928 to the late Henry & Josephine Geers, Charles was a graduate of St. Mary High School. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean War and retired from the Akron Fire Department as a lieutenant after 34 years of service. Charles was a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cuyahoga Falls and was a member of the Holy Name Society.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his brother John (Bill). He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Margaret; children Ed (Jayne) Geers, Teresa (Jeff Burger) Geers, Jeannette (Mark) Kaiser, Bernadette (Lou) Lambert, & Sharon (Tim Ricks) Geers; grandchildren Megan (Patrick), Chris (Katie), Nathan (Kellsea), Jenny, Michael, David, Eric, Matthew, & Justin; great-grandchildren Caroline, Jaxson, Carson, and soon-to-be-born Grace; sister Regina McFarland.
The family will receive friends on Friday, July 4, from 12-2 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home MCGOWAN-REID & SANTOS CHAPEL 247 Stow Ave. (at 3rd. St., one block north of Portage Trail) in Cuyahoga Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, 10:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cuyahoga Falls. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron.

Visitation

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 4, from 12-2 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home MCGOWAN-REID & SANTOS CHAPEL 247 Stow Ave. (at 3rd. St., one block north of Portage Trail) in Cuyahoga Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, 10:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cuyahoga Falls. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron.
