Charles (Chic) Reed

Charles (Chic) Reed passed away on his 81st birthday, Monday, December 11, 2023.

He was born in 1942 to Charles (Chic) and Mary (Bailey) Reed in Akron. He was a 1960 graduate of Garfield High School and received a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering in 1964 and an MBA in 1970 from the University of Akron. He was involved in Sales of many types from Nuclear Coolant devices at Babcock and Wilcox to Legal Shield.

Chic was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Massillon Council 554, BPOE (Elks), Eagles and the Polish American Club.

Chic was a longtime owner of Harley Davidson Motorcycles and even worked as a motorcycle instructor for HD. He achieved the honor of a black belt in Judo.

Chic is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Fran (Falenczykoski); children Becky (John) Luckett, Debbie (Kevin) Cleghorne, Mindy (Chris) Roden and Chip (Beth) Reed; grandchildren William, Ryan, Daniel, Mark, and Kate Luckett; Brent and Em Cleghorne; Kindra Roden; and Ruthie, Owen, Bennett, Jake, Matty and Max Reed.

Chic will be remembered at a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 4019 Manchester, Rd. Akron OH 44319 at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 16, 2023. Inurnment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. (Anthony Green, anthonyfh.com)
