Cesar Antonio Martinez

Cesar A. Martinez, 52, passed away Thursday, January 7, 2021 at Cleveland Clinic after a brief illness.
Cesar was born March 13, 1968 to Josephina Serra in New York City and had been an Akron resident for many years. He was employed by Grout System.
Cesar is survived by his beloved wife of 19 years, Lorrie (Varney) Martinez; sons Caleb and Joseph Martinez; step son Brendan Varney; mother Josephina Serra Martinez; mother in law Diane Varney; siblings Salvador Bobadilla, Vanessa Serra, Vianell Serra; brothers and sisters in law; many aunts, uncles, cousins nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his step father Elido; father in law Larry Varney; grandparents Jose and Maria Amelia Martinez
He most enjoyed time with his family especially his sons spending time at basketball, boxing and martial arts. He also liked power washing houses, driveways and sidewalks. He loved to cook, spending time outdoors and loved his dog Mac.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 11, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. Akron, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to services. Pastor Aaron Furman officiating. Services will be livestreamed at facebook.com/anthonyfuneralhomes. Interment Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Ohio at kfohio.org.
