Catherine Lynn (Willey) Pillitiere

Catherine Lynn Pillitiere (née Willey), 66, passed away on March 8, 2022 peacefully at home surrounded by family, after a short battle with Glioblastoma.

A life long resident of Akron, OH and a 1973 graduate of Garfield High School, Cathy was a deeply spiritual, nurturing, artistic, funny, yet private person. Throughout her life she was an avid reader, artist, musician, and recently received her 3rd degree black belt in Kwanmukan Karate. Above all, Cathy loved her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents Robert E. and Nylah A. Willey. She is survived by her husband and partner of over 50 years, Tom Pillitiere; daughter, Angela (Matt) Isenbart; son, Tom (Christy) Pillitiere; grandchildren, Victoria (Eric) Ridout, Matthew Isenbart, Vinnie Pillitiere, Dominic Pillitiere; great-grandson Soren Ridout; sisters Linda (Ron) Hamilton and Robin Willey; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 10-11AM Saturday, March 12 at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1580 Brown Street in Akron, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11AM. Interment at Holy Cross at a later date.
