Carolyn Jean (Ash) Wnoroski

December 30, 1948 — February 22, 2021

Carolyn J. Wnoroski, 72, passed away Monday, February 22, 2021 after a short illness.

Carolyn, called Jeanie by those closest to her, was born in Akron on December 30, 1948 to Loman & Dorothy Ash and was a life-long area resident. A faithful Catholic, she grew up a parishioner of St. Paul Parish and then of St. Joseph as an adult. While a student at the University of Akron, Carolyn was a founding member of the Chi Omega Sorority. She also met her husband Jon Wnoroski during a fraternity event at the university. She worked for Roadway for 15 years before retiring in the late 90s.  Her greatest career, however, was that of mom to her girls.  Carolyn was incredibly kind; she loved to read, laugh, and cheer on OSU football. She was a beloved mother and nana; she will be deeply missed.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Jon; and her father Loman Ash. She is survived by her daughters Jennifer (Pete) Welden, Mary (Aaron) VanDerlin, and Patti (Andrew) Lammert; mother Dorothy Ash; granddaughters Sara & Abby Welden; sister Patricia (Ronald) Toth; brother-in-law Greg (Christine) Wnoroski; nieces and nephews, aunts Anna Marie West, Eleanor Harget, Mary Bamonte, & many cousins.
