Carole L. Serdinak, 78, passed away July 7, 2016.
Born in Akron on February 9, 1938, to the late Bert & Edna Edwards (nee Lawrence), Carole was a 1956 graduate of Ellet High School. Upon graduation, Carole started her work career as a secretary at Akron Standard Mold, where she worked for the next 49 years. She married her husband Richard 'Dick' Serdinak in 1959. Carole received promotions at Akron Standard Mold which included Secretary for the VP of Engineering, Engineering Dept. Clerical Supervisor, with six people reporting under her, promotion to the Secretary of the VP of the Uniformity Division (MAC), and eventually was promoted to Inside Sales Manager. In the '90s, she had the account sales responsibility for Stomil Tire in Olystyn, Poland, and traveled to Europe many times. She was also the Sales Manager for Uniformity & Balance Products. Carole was graciously visited weekly during her illness by her boss Leland MacFarland. She enjoyed collecting glassware and she loved cats.
Carole is survived by her husband Dick and brother Jack Edwards.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 11, 10:00 am, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church on Brown St. in Akron, where the family will receive friends beginning at 9 am until the time of the service.
