Carol S. Comer, 62, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2024 a year after her diagnosis with glioblastoma.
Carol was born in Elyria to the late Robert and Mavis Brown and graduated from Elyria High School, going on to attend the University of Akron, graduating with a bachelor's degree in art education. She taught for over 30 years at Firestone Park Elementary, retiring in 2019. Carol enjoyed travel, gardening, riding her horse and creating art. She was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Akron, now the Vine Fellowship in Copley.
In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her infant son Brendon. She is survived by her husband of over 40 years, Terry; children Lauren (Brett) Talcott and Adam (fiancé Nicole); granddaughter Tate; brothers Craig (Kristen) and Keith (Mary) Brown; and many other friends and loved ones.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 17 from 5-8PM at the Anthony Funeral Homes, Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S Main St in Akron. A funeral service will be held Saturday, May 18 at 11AM at the funeral home. Burial at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park.
