Carl Daniel Johnson

Carl D. Johnson, 69, passed away on April 22, 2026.
Carl was born on August 24, 1956 in Akron to the late Ray and Eleanor Johnson and was a 1974 graduate of East High School. He served his country as a member of the US Navy and later earned his Bachelor's in Arts from the University of Akron. Carl was a longtime member of St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church. Carl was a sculptor and specifically enjoyed sculpting metal. he enjoyed fishing and playing the drums. Carl had a great sense of humor and was a big jokester. Carl always enjoyed a good Martini.
In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his beloved wife Lorraine. he is survived by his children Arikka Johnson, Carl (Ashley) D. Johnson II, Natalie (Rick) Ziegman, & Nick Johnson; grandchildren Alexys (fiance Noah Albright), Mariah, Bryce, Iryonna, Grayson, Serenity, Joey, & Zack; brother Chris Johnson; special friends Dave Heren, Randy Carter, & great-grandfriend Cadence.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 26, from 5-7 pm at St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church 755 S. Cleveland Ave., Mogadore, where a Parastas will follow at 7 pm. A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 27, at 10:00 am, at the church, followed immediately by burial at St. Nicholas Cemetery in Akron.
