Bounlieng Thammavongsa

In Loving Memory of Bounlieng Khampo Thammavongsa
June 6th,1957 - September 24th, 2026

At the age of 69, Bounlieng passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home surrounded by loved ones. He was born June 6th,1957 in a small jungle village located in Laos named Muang Phalang. Son of the late Lan and Pang Thammavongsa.

Leaving behind his wife Tao, 5 children; Boualouang (Paul), Phousid, Savathvong, Bounlong, Bounlom and 7 grandchildren; Melodie, Panthep, Lily, Eli, Ayva, Jayden and Vivian. As well as his brother Simon and a host of extended family members.

He survived through many hardships during the Vietnam war. Despite major war inflicted injuries he persevered and made the courageous journey to the United States on September 9th 1990. Searching for a promising future with his wife, and first born daughter. He laid down roots in Akron, Ohio and continued to grow his family.

Although life presented many challenges, he continued to be kind. A true testament to his character and resilience. He possessed a steady and quiet strength that must only come from experience. In all his actions he consistently put his family first. A sacrifice that did not go unnoticed.

Outside of his dedication to providing for his family, he enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, working on cars, and lots of coffee and energy drinks. He genuinely loved spending time with his grandchildren. Attuned to their needs he became the best provider, cook and babysitter around.

Remembered for being a gentle and loving father who showed his care through his acts of service. From him we learned that love is an action. He is tremendously loved and will be greatly missed forever.
