Boun Om "Paul" , passed away peacefully, on December 25, 2023.
Boun Om was born in Ban Nong-Gnama, Champone, Savannakhet, Laos, on October 2, 1941. He is the 4th out of 6 children of Hom and Tookpomay Sengsourichanh.
He served in the Laos People's Army. He entered as an Officer Cadet in military college in 1959, graduated high ranking in his class, and was assigned as Financial Accountant Administrator. He served until May 15, 1975, at the senior officer rank of Phanoth (two star). After his time of service, he petitioned for he and his family to come to the United States. Boun Om and his family immigrated to Smithville, Ohio, sponsored by the Oak Grove Mennonite Church, on Thanksgiving Day, 1979.
Boun Om was a strong family man (full of energy), and always not afraid to tackle new challenges and ideas. He was also a committee member of the Laos Association, a strong supporter and contributor to the Laotian (Laos) community thorough out the state of Ohio.
Boun Om was preceded in death by beloved son, Phanomphone Sengsourichanh.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Ouanmaly Sengsourichanh; daughters, Boun Lith Vongkhamchanh & Dara (Tic) Vivongsy; sons, Anthony (Te) Sengsourichanh, Keopaseuth (King) Sengsourichanh, & Oakley Sengsourichanh; and grandchildren & great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Friday, December 29, from 3-6 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron, where a funeral will be held on Saturday, December 30, at 1 pm.
