Betty Belle (Scott) Oakes

Betty Belle Oakes, 92, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2022 at her home. Betty was a long- time resident of Akron, Ohio. She was born on April 5, 1929, to Edwin and Myrtle Scott. Betty was preceded in death by her first husband Donald Reeder (father of Donald, Donna, and Jeanette), second husband Jack Oakes (father of Hope), her sister Pat, her brother Jack, and her son Donald Oakes. She is survived by her daughters Donna Kinnan (Bud), Jeanette Freno (Joe), and Hope Fuller (Eric); grandchildren, Kevin, Keith, Mike, Joey, Alicia, Donny, Meagan, Drew, Brendan, Megan, and Jack; and many great grandchildren.
Betty was loved for her cleanliness, reliability, cooking, love of Christmas decorations, and QVC shopping. She had a special relationship with her grandchildren and often could be found taking them to lunch at the Waterloo with her daughter Hope. She was an example of strength and independence for all who knew her, and she will be greatly missed.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 15, 2022, from 12 to 1pm at the Anthony Funeral Home, 1990 S. Main St. Akron where a funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
