Betty L. Mccravy

KENT -- Betty L. McCravy, 75, went home to be with the Lord on December 29, after a short illness.
Born in Akron on January 28, 1938 to the late Harry and Lydia Cook, Betty had been a lifetime area resident. She graduated from East High School in 1956. She was a longtime member of the Tallmadge United Methodist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society, where she loved the girls and the girls loved her. She always looked forward to her monthly outings.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her brothers, Harold, Earl, and Howard and sisters, Eileen and Meldie. She is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years, Bob of Kent; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Sue McCravy of Kent; daughters and son-in-law, Shari (Greg Smith) Blucker and Lori and Craig Schley, all of Tallmadge; grandchildren, Lyndsey Schley and Zachary and Jacob Blucker.
A celebration of Betty's life will take place on Friday, January 3, at 11 a.m. at the Tallmadge United Methodist Church, 207 N. Munroe Rd. in Tallmadge, where the family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, 1690 W. Market St., Akron, OH 44313 or by visiting www.cancer.org.

Visitation

A celebration of Betty's life will take place on Friday, January 3, at 11 a.m. at the Tallmadge United Methodist Church, 207 N. Munroe Rd. in Tallmadge, where the family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
