Betty Jo Law

On October 10, 2025, Betty Jo Law, 93, was welcomed home by her Heavenly Father.

Betty was born September 23, 1932 in Doddridge County, West Virginia to Homer and Bertha Heilman. She worked at O'Neil's in Downtown Akron and the Akron Board of Education, which is where she retired from. Betty never met a stranger. She was loved by all who knew her. Betty always tried to help those in need and gave good advice. Betty loved thrifting, watching football (especially the Browns), and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband and soulmate, William "Bill." She is survived by her children Bev also known as Kelly Jo Law and Rick (Amy) Law; 6 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; sister Eleanor (Don) Armstrong of Aiken, SC; and nephew Jeff Yarger as well as several other nieces and nephews.

A special thank you to Betty's neighbors, nephew Jeff, and Akron Fire Station #4 for looking out for her.

Calling hours will be held Friday, October 24 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Anthony Funeral Home - Akron Chapel, located at 1990 S. Main St, followed by a funeral service officiated by Tim Hileman at 2:00 PM. The funeral service will be livestreamed.
