Betty Ann (Magoulick) Hicks

Betty Ann Hicks, 94, passed away on January 7, 2024.
Betty was born in Akron on April 7, 1929 to the late Michael & Mary Magoulick and was a 1948 graduate of South High, before attending the Hammel Business College. Betty retired from Akron City Hospital. Betty was a longtime member of the former St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church and most recently St. Mary in Hudson. With unwavering dedication, Betty was an unconditionally loving caregiver for over 50 years for her son Kenneth, who was born with Cerebral Palsy.
Betty enjoyed gardening, cooking holiday meals for family, knitting blankets for her great-grandchildren, live music, and was an avid reader.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband Gene and sons Kenneth & Steven. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Michael & Sheila Hicks; daughter-in-law Cindy Hicks; grandchildren Adam (Chelsea), Kyle (Samantha), Paige (Eric) Meleney, Daniel, & Matthew; great-grandchildren Violet, Jillian, Amelia, Charles, & Poppy.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 11, from 6-8 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S, Main St. in Akron. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary Catholic Church 340 N. Main St. in Hudson. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron.
