Berthold Beke

Berthold Beke, 78, passed away Thursday, January 25, 2018. He was born in Austria, January 26, 1939. He came to the United States with his family in 1957.  He was a regional service manager retiring from Amana/Whirlpool after many years of service. Bert enjoyed fishing, the outdoors and watching his grandchildren play sports and their many other activities. He was preceded in death by his mother, Anna; fathers, Bela and Oskar; brother, Herbert; and granddaughter, Christan. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Rose; sons, Gerhard (Susan) and Anthony (Deena); daughter, Rosemarie (Aaron) Lakota; brother, Lothar (Helga); sister, Erna (Bob); grandchildren, Ryan (Natasha), Brandon (Natalia), Mackenzie, Michael, Cameron and Chase Beke, Riley (Alex) Loyd and Madison and Drew Lakota; and 13 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held Thursday, 10 a.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. Akron, Ohio 44301. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Wednesday, 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. (Anthony, Akron)
