Bernetta May Anweiler, (Shults) (Rogers) passed away on January 9, 2025. Bernetta was born in Millersburg, Ohio on May 14, 1923. She moved to Firestone Park with her family and had fond memories of growing up with her sisters, Dorothy and Helen, walking to school with many friends, and watching the circus set up across from their home back in the day.
Bernetta worked as a switchboard operator at Ohio Bell and at Goodyear Aircraft. Her hobbies were ceramics and China painting. Bernetta, aka, "B", Grandma B, Aunt B and Queenie loved spending time with her family, playing canasta, taking road trips and gambling on the slot machines in Laughlin. She loved entertaining. Cooking and preparing for parties were true passions. B's chip dip, peppermint ice cream pies and unique 'conversation piece' appetizers and desserts will always be fondly remembered.
At 101 she was still full of life and never said no to an adventure. Well into her 90s, Bernetta went sledding, kayaking and even jet-skiing. Age was never a consideration and certainly not a boundary.
Bernetta is survived by her daughter, Janelle Pera (Rogers), son-in-law Fred Pera, grandchildren, Maddie and Tyler, nephew, Jon Heard and many great nieces and nephews.
