Barbara Ann Mcalarney

Barbara Ann McAlarney, 83, passed away Sunday, April 3, 2016.
She was born in Mayfield, Kentucky and was a nurse retiring from Akron City Hospital. Barbara liked to play the piano and sing. She was looking forward to another great-grandson being born in August.
Mrs. McAlarney was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Hazel (Kelton) Johnson; husband, John; and daughter, LaBecca. She is survived by her children, John (Maryann) McAlarney, II., Susan McAlarney and Tom (Donna) and James (Chris) McAlarney; many grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Saturday, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home McGowan-Reid & Santos Chapel, 247 Stow Ave. (one block North of Portage Trail at 3rd St.) Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio 44221. Further service and interment will be private. Donations may be made to the Haven of Rest Rescue Mission, 175 E. Market St. Akron, Ohio 44308 or to a local homeless shelter of choice.
