Barbara Ann Mancine 88, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2026 at the Village of St. Edward in Fairlawn. Barbara was born on August 20, 1937 in Cleveland and grew up in Chagrin Falls, OH. She was a 1955 graduate of West Geauga High School and completed her Bachelor's in Education from Kent State University. Her first job post-graduation was at Russell Elementary. She then taught for the Cuyahoga Falls School District for a short time. Most of her 27 year teaching career was at Immaculate Conception School in Ravenna.
As a working mother of four children, she was constantly on the go helping to support her children and their various activities including baseball, softball, band and numerous summer jobs.
She was active in the church community, serving as a PSR instructor, a reader and she participated in prayer and rosary groups. Through her church she developed many long lasting friendships.
She authored a children's book entitled, "Brown Bunny's Bird and Flower Book," which was illustrated by her daughter-in-law Amie Mancine.
She was a longtime proponent of leading a healthy lifestyle. She loved to go on nature walks with friends and family on the nearby community trails and enjoyed doing yoga.
To her children, she was not just a mother, she was a hero as she was always saving the day in one way or another. She was the calm and reassuring voice on the other end of the phone. Her children and grandchildren looked forward to visits with her.
