Arthur Thompson Jr., 95, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2021.
Arthur was born on March 6, 1926 in Beaverdale, PA to the late Arthur & Nellie Thompson and had lived in Cuyaghoga Falls for most of his life. He served his country in the US Navy during WWII, fighting in the invasions of Okinawa and Normandy. Art owned his own cleaning company for many years. Along with his late wife Ruth, he spent many winters in Fort Myers, FL. Arthur was an avid fisherman and spent many years fishing in Canada.
In addition to his wife and parents, Arthur was preceded in death by his daughter Nancy and sons-in-law Luke Jones & Jimmy Corcoran; siblings Bessie, Vivian, James, & Ralph. He is survived by his children Art (Ginger), Terry (Janis), Carol Wymer, & Debbie Jones, as well as 14 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. The family would like to extend their thanks to Crossroads Hospice and Summa Home Care for the compassionate care given to Arthur.
A funeral will take place on Friday, December 3, at 12:00 pm at Anthony Funeral Home McGowan-Reid & Santos Chapel 247 Stow Ave. (at Third St., one block north of Portage Trail in) Cuyahoga Falls, where the family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Cuyahoga Falls.
