Arlene C. Mauk (King), 73, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 19, 2014.
Arlene was born and raised in Akron, where she was a 1958 graduate Central High School. Employed for many years as a bookkeeper Big Lots Stores, she was a kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. A lifelong member of the Salvation Army (Akron Citadel), she enjoyed the friendships of the Home League Women for many years.
Preceded in death by her parents, Ernest & Ethel King (nee Hyde); husband George E. Mauk Sr.; daughter Kimberly McLane; sister Lillian Wilson; two grandsons and a niece.
She will be sadly missed but forever loved by her children Barbara A. Mauk, George E. Mauk, Jr., and Pamela J. Mauk; sisters Betty Dotson, Patricia Adkins and brother Ernest King Jr.; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
A celebration of Life will take place at the Salvation Army, 190 S. Maple St. on Monday, November 24, at 1:00 PM. Calling hours will be from 11:00-1:00 PM prior to the service. Donations may be made to the Salvation Army. (Anthony, Akron, 330-724-1281, anthonyfh.com)
