Arlene Evelyn Davis

Arlene E. Davis, 86, passed away on Friday, August 28, 2026 after a long illness.

Arlene was born on April 5, 1940, to the late Tom and Arlene Keenan, and was lifelong area resident. She graduated from Coventry High School and married Richard C. Davis in 1960. She worked at O'Neils, amongst other jobs, and then was an escrow agent at Burke's Title. Arlene was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and St. Francis de Sales Church.

In addition to her parents, Arlene was preceded in death by her husband Richard C. Davis; brother James Keennan; brothers-in-law Ben Gesaman and Fred Boggs; sister-in-law Jeanie Keenan; nephews Mike and Mark Keenen; niece Debra Sabbagh; lifelong friends Rosemary Manley and Patty Latshaw; numerous others and beloved dog Fritz. She is survived by her sons Rick (Kelly) Davis and Robert Davis; grandchildren Nick (Cassie), Greg (Allyssa), Brooklynn, Kodey, Keenan, and Sarrah Davis, Alyssa (Paul) Weakland, and Anthony Huth; ten great-grandkids; siblings Charles Keenan, Dorothy Gesaman, Jane (Rick) Sabbaugh, and Kathy Boggs; and lifelong best friend since childhood Elvi (Nils) Hoiseth.

Thank you to Rita Zellefrow, her hairdresser, for being a friend and making mom look beautiful for so many years; and thank you to Fr. Jeremy and Fr. Cameron from St. Francis for everything you did for mom during her last days.

The family will receive friends on Friday, September 4, 2026 from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM at Anthony Funeral Home, Akron Chapel, 1990 S. Main St., where a funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery will immediately follow, A reception will follow the graveside at the Firestone Park VFW, 690 W. Waterloo Road in Akron. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, heart.org, or the American Lung Association, lung.org, or the American Cancer Society, cancer.org.
