Anthony Michael Semilia

GREEN - Anthony Michael Semilia, 88, of Green, passed away Sunday October 16, 2016.
Anthony was born on February 15, 1928 to the late Antonio and Giuseppina (Madonia) Semilia in Akron, Ohio. Anthony and his late wife, Sally, have resided in Green for the last 39 years.
Anthony was an active member of Queen of Heaven Catholic Church where he served as an usher. He was employed by Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. for 32 years retiring in 1991 and formerly employed by Quaker Oats. He was a member of The Goodyear Retirees Club and was a veteran of the Navy during WWII.
Anthony was extremely proud of his Italian/Sicilian heritage. He loved family gatherings with food and laughter. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, spending time with family and friends and taking walks alongside the ocean. Time spent with Anthony was not complete without a story or two about his ornery younger days!
Anthony is preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Sally Semilia; his brothers Sam and John Semilia; and his sisters Josephine (LaRose) and Geraldine (Logiudice). He is survived by children, Joanne Semilia, Toni (Bill) Norman and Marianne (Ron) Carter; grandchildren Erica (Sean) Gill-Shotts, Shannon Gill, Maria Kukasky, Jennifer (Dan)
Bond, Natalie (Angelo) Donatelli, Sarah (Brandon) Benson, Toni Carter; great-grandchildren, Charlie, Nina, Ian, Paulo, Evan, Liam, Lily, Ava, Elianna and Franco; and many very special nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Thursday from 4 to 8 pm at the Anthony and Son Funeral Home, 4178 Massillon Rd. Uniontown (corner of Massillon and Steese Roads
in Green, entrance off of Steese Rd). Funeral services will be held Friday 10:15am at the funeral home and with be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 1800 Steese Road, Uniontown OH 44685. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude's Research Hospital or Queen
