Anna Helen Steffek

"I had a good life."
Anna Steffek, our beautiful mother, age 92, passed away on February 17, at Heatherknoll Care Center in Tallmadge.
Born in Akron on February 22, 1922 to the late Joseph and Mary Fajcak, Anna had been a lifetime area resident. She was a member of the St. John the Baptist Catholic Community, and was a longtime member of the Czechoslovak Society of America, serving as the secretary of the local chapter. Anna was an excellent cook and baker. Most importantly, Anna was a wonderful mother and grandmother, and a woman of great faith.
In addition to her parents, Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph in 1992 and her sister, Margaret Hornacek. She is survived by her children, Jerry (Mary Ann), Edward (Pam), and Joanne (Jim) Morrison; grandchildren, Nathan, Lori, Michael, Evan, and Kate; four great-grandchildren.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the staffs of both Heatherknoll Care Center and Harbor Light Hospice for the compassionate care given to Anna during her time there.
The family will receive friends on Friday, 5 to 7 p.m., at the Anthony Funeral Home KUCKO-ANTHONY-KERTESZ CHAPEL, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Jonathan Zingales on Saturday, 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 1034 Brown St., Akron, OH 44301. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE PROCESSION WILL FORM AT THE CHURCH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Baptist Church or to the Haven of Rest Ministries, 175 E. Market St., Akron, OH 44308.
