Anna Chrapko

AKRON - Anna Chrapko, 98, passed away Sun- day, May 1, 2022, peacefully at her home.
Anna was born October 11, 1923 to Steve and Katherine (Koniw) Pihosky in Samborg, Ukraine. She came to the United States in 1949 and to Akron in 1952. She was employed by the Galbraith Group for 26 years, retiring in 1993. She received US citizenship in 2015 at 91 years old. She was an active and faithful member of Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church and the Blessed Virgin Mary Sodality. Her greatest joy was sharing her life and home with her family. She made everyone she met feel truly special with her wonderful spirit. She was a true matriarch.
Anna was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 42 years Theodore, granddaughter Andrea, sons-in-law Jacque Wolf, Patrick Burns and Paul Hickman, daughter-in-law Fedelia and siblings Wesley, Mary, Tina, and Julia. She is survived by her sister Katherine in the Ukraine, her children Geri Burns, Wesley Chrapko, Linda Hickman, Helen (Tim) Jett and Lori (Brian) Ken- yon; grandchildren Brian Burns, Michelle (Dan) Dame, Theodore (Sandy) Chrapko, Dawn Podob- nik, Jacque (Doug) Redman, Bradley (Morgan) Jett, Kimberly (Russell) Chute, Lindsay (Stefan) Burger, and Elise, Hannah and Joe Kenyon; great grandchildren Sara, Sammie, Sofie, Emily (Kevin), Allison (Shannon), Luke, Andrea, Taylor, Connor, Anna, Alexandria, Owen, Helena, Theodore Jr, and Serenity; great great granddaughter Ava; and numerous nieces and nephews in the Ukraine, Europe, Australia, and New Jersey.

The family will receive friends Thursday, May 5, 2022, from 5 to 8 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home, 1990 S. Main St., Akron where a Panahida Service will be held at 7:30 pm. Funeral services will begin Friday, May 6, 2022 at 9:30 am at the funeral home and continue with a Divine Liturgy at 10:00 am at Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1866 Brown St., Akron OH 44301. Rev. Archpriest Vsevolod Shevchuk officiating. In- terment Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Holy Ghost Church or to the Ukrainian Relief c/o Holy Ghost Church.
